Specialties of Thyroid Center of New Hampshire

The Thyroid Center of New Hampshire is limited to Endocrinology and Metabolism. While the practice only deals with endocrine issues, the total patient is our primary concern, and we pride ourselves on providing personal and friendly care. We are dedicated to fully educating you about your health needs, and strive to be your partner in health.

Thyroid Nodules

Thyroid nodules, or lumps on the thyroid gland, are a common problem. As many as one in twenty people have a lump that can be felt, and over half of normal people will have a very small lump detectable by ultrasound. Over 95% of all lumps large enough to be felt are benign. Decades ago, it was common practice to remove most lumps. Today, however, needle biopsy can determine which nodules require surgery, and which can be safely monitored. Dr. Levine has performed over 3000 needle biopsies in the last twenty five years.

Thyroid Cancer

Thyroid Cancer is one of the few cancers that have shown an increase and not a decline in recent years. Fortunately, most patients with thyroid cancer do very well, with a survival rate exceeding 97%. Good outcomes require proper treatment and monitoring, and the Thyroid Center of New Hampshire provides comprehensive, compassionate care for thyroid cancer. Working closely with skilled local and national surgeons, pathologists and radiation oncologists, the center strives for early detection, quality treatment, and long-term surveillance for recurrence.
